What we do. How we do it. Who we work for
What we do

We work on media products and integrated communication solutions for major media and industry clients. Our main area of expertise is future oriented publishing. We help our clients develop a story and then find the most suitable medium to communicate with. We love technology but we are not the tech-guys. We are storytellers in a new world of tablets, social media, and mobile devices. Regardless, we have not abandoned paper and enjoy taking on print jobs for selected customers.

How we do it
How we do it

At rethink we believe that in the digital era new communication formats are developing faster than many can handle. We like to shape this process, inventing new ways in which consumers interact with our clients’ content in the future. We use our years of experience working in media-houses to help our clients stay on the message and find the right medium to communicate effectively.

We know how to produce an iPad magazine, but we do not limit ourselves to tablets or digital products—we are always looking for the perfect solution for any given customer. This can be an app, book, magazine, or social-media-campaign. Most often it will be multi-platform and integrated solutions using more than one of the above.

How we do it
Who we work for

Rethink’s clients include media houses and major brands and corporations (such as Axel Springer and Volkswagen) who are looking for new ways to present their content B2B or B2C in a decisively modern but still hands-on way. Rethink combines high-profile journalistic and design knowledge with an understanding of newest technology. Its rare talent of being able to fuse both into new kinds of storytelling makes the company the perfect partner for publishers and brands looking for cutting edge solutions.

Service we offer
Services we offer
We produce high-end media content from first idea to text, pictures, and videos. We design, write copy, book and coordinate photographers and camera crews—we even take care of the programming. With rethink, getting your own Print or iPad magazine is a one-stop shop
The Iconist
The Iconist is the first iPad-only magazine in Germany. It was created by rethink’s Brian O’ Connor and Markus Albers for the Axel Springer publishing company. Rethink provides creative, editorial, and production services for The Iconist, in close collaboration with Axel Springer editors. It appears quarterly. The Iconist is a living magazine, blending the opulence and intuitive reading experience of a printed product with all the interaction and other digital features of the Internet. Each issue features unique, high-quality content from the worlds of fashion, design, food, and technology. The Iconist is available for download in both German and international English language editions.
EOS App
Rethink created a unique interactive catalog for the Eos, Volkswagen’s new convertible. The Eos app tells a multimedia story of how the Eos was developed and features designers discussing the challenges of the creative process. The app then weaves the vehicle itself into an informative, twin-city tour of the hot spots of Barcelona and Berlin, with German actor Daniel Brühl (Good Bye, Lenin!, Inglourious Basterds) as the reader’s personal guide. Computer animations also demonstrate the benefits of Eos features such as Park Assist and Cool Leather. The app includes an interactive visualizer, allowing users to customize their own Eos and view it from all angles. In German and English.

The Young Global Leaders Special
On behalf of Axel Springer New Business, rethink designed a special edition of the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants magazine think:act, a periodical for global decision makers. The single issue magazine focuses on the Young Global Leaders (YGL), a community of more than 750 young professionals who are willing to shape the global future. The magazine features stories on and essays from well-known YGL members and supporters, such as Haakon Magnus Crown Prince of Norway and Martin Wittig, CEO of Roland Berger, in a reduced and clean layout.

Sometimes you need to step back and focus to really find out what you want. Rethink moderates outcome-oriented workshops and facilitates innovation processes. We help you find exactly the right communication strategy for your specific goals. And then we help you implement it.
Workshops
In a world of ever changing new media formats you often want to see and touch a new idea before actually spending a lot of money to execute it. We design and build impressive models and mock-ups that give you a feel for the actual product—and that let you communicate your idea in-house.
